Requirements
- 1 year Pharmacy experience (Required)
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of drug and medical therapy
- Proficiency in medication handling, compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations, and USP <795>, <797> and <800> compliance
Responsibilities
- Interpret medication orders, profile orders and oversee the packaging, labeling and distribution of medications.
- Perform drug therapy monitoring and intervene as necessary on drug dosing, drug administration, drug interactions, side-effects and monitoring issues.
- Provide accurate and timely drug information to physicians, nurses and other health professionals.
- Interpret research medication orders, ensure accurate preparation of investigational drugs and maintain complete and accurate records.
- Maintain proficiencies in medication handling including hazardous medications, compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations and completing quality assurance checks per USP <795>, <797> and <800> guidelines.
- Oversee the work of Pharmacy Technicians by directing and assisting as necessary to ensure rapid medication order turn-around time.
- Assist with the education, training and general supervision of Pharmacy Residents, Students and Technicians.
