Retail Pharmacist

This is a PRN Retail Pharmacist position located in Avon, IN at IU West Hospital's retail pharmacy, working every 4th weekend and providing coverage for vacation, PTO and scheduling gaps. Provides comprehensive, value-based medication-related care to achieve definite outcomes that improve a patient's quality of life. Acts in collaboration with other healthcare professionals in the shared responsibility for patient medication therapy outcomes.

Key job duties consist of ensuring safety and effectiveness of the medication use process, processing and dispensing medications per order or prescription, medication therapy monitoring, and regulatory compliance. Maintains oversight over pharmacist extenders, the security of medications, and protects the confidentiality of patient information. Provides medication information support for medical and nursing staff, ensuring continuity of care.
