The Retail Pharmacist is responsible for the optimization of drug therapy by identification, resolution, and prevention of drug related problems and improving therapeutic outcomes. Provide patient care according to the laws and regulations governing pharmacists and the practice of pharmacy. May prescribe medications under specific collaborative drug therapy management agreements.

As part of a highly collaborative care team, direct and coordinate the activities and delivery of pharmacy services. Supervise and verify the accuracy of all work completed by support personnel during an assigned shift. Operate within the limits of pharmacy policy and procedures.

Ensure compliance with target drug programs, formulary management, medication management initiatives, and adverse drug event monitoring programs. Participate in department quality improvement efforts. To support your transition, receive a $15,000 sign-on bonus along with a $5,000+ relocation and housing stipend.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
  • Pharmacist state license required
  • Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration preferred
  • Experience working as a pharmacist 2-3 years preferred
  • Extensive knowledge in IV Admixtures, Drug Information, Ambulatory, Manufacturing, and Drug Distribution
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span of the neonate, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient
  • Ability to work relatively independently and participate in quality improvement efforts

Responsibilities

  • Document and report clinical interventions, medication errors, adverse drug events
  • Participate in department quality improvement efforts
  • Follow all policies, procedures, laws, and regulations set forth by the Board of Pharmacy
