Adventist Health Ukiah Valley has been deeply connected to the community since 1956. Provides pharmaceutical care to patients served by the community pharmacies. Compounds, prepares, mixes, manufactures and dispenses medicines and preparations under minimal supervision.

Responsible in all areas of pharmaceutical practice to provide medication information to the medical staff, hospital staff, patients, and community. Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors. Mentors and trains staff on technical skills.

Works comprised of a 50-bed acute care medical center, level IV trauma center, level II intensive care nursery services. Includes extensive physical rehabilitation program, outpatient surgery and diagnostic center and advanced wound care center. Adventist Health is a faith-based, nonprofit, integrated health system serving more than 100 communities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of school of pharmacy
  • Pharmacist license in the state of practice
  • All licensures and certifications needed to fulfill the duties required of a Pharmacist at the state level
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification
  • One year's technical experience (preferred)
  • One year's retail pharmacy experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or supervise the preparation and dispensing of medication orders/prescriptions
  • Order and maintain medication supplies
  • Interpret and transcribe prescriptions and obtain immediate clarification when necessary
  • Supervise support staff in the transcription and preparation of prescription medications
  • Monitor and review patients' drug regimens/profile for possible drug interactions, incompatibilities, allergies
  • Contact the prescriber as necessary to clarify/rectify identified problems
  • Maintain records required to meet third-party payers, laws and regulations
  • Assist with quality assurance monitoring, data collection and continual accreditation preparedness
