This part-time (24 hours/week) benefits eligible Retail Pharmacist position is at Riley Children's Hospital onsite retail pharmacy.

Provides comprehensive, value-based medication-related care to achieve definite outcomes that improve a patient's quality of life. Acts in collaboration with other healthcare professionals for shared responsibility in patient medication therapy outcomes. Key duties include ensuring safety and effectiveness of medication use.

Requirements

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy prior to 2006
Successful completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 or PGY2 residency may be required
0-3 years of relevant experience
Current Indiana Pharmacist license or eligibility for Indiana licensure
Board certification or other specialized training may be required
Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required
May require weekend rotations

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, value-based medication-related care to improve patient quality of life
Collaborate with healthcare professionals for shared patient medication therapy outcomes
Ensure safety and effectiveness of the medication use process
Process and dispense medications per order or prescription
Conduct medication therapy monitoring
Maintain regulatory compliance and oversight over pharmacist extenders
Maintain security of medications and protect patient information confidentiality
Provide medication information support to medical and nursing staff
