This part-time (24 hours/week) benefits eligible Retail Pharmacist position is at Riley Children's Hospital onsite retail pharmacy.

Provides comprehensive, value-based medication-related care to achieve definite outcomes that improve a patient's quality of life. Acts in collaboration with other healthcare professionals for shared responsibility in patient medication therapy outcomes. Key duties include ensuring safety and effectiveness of medication use.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy prior to 2006
  • Successful completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 or PGY2 residency may be required
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Current Indiana Pharmacist license or eligibility for Indiana licensure
  • Board certification or other specialized training may be required
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required
  • May require weekend rotations

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, value-based medication-related care to improve patient quality of life
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals for shared patient medication therapy outcomes
  • Ensure safety and effectiveness of the medication use process
  • Process and dispense medications per order or prescription
  • Conduct medication therapy monitoring
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and oversight over pharmacist extenders
  • Maintain security of medications and protect patient information confidentiality
  • Provide medication information support to medical and nursing staff
