About this role
Provides pharmaceuticals and drug information as needed for adequate patient care according to professional standards and practices. Works full-time with rotating shifts from 7am to 6:30pm, including holiday rotation and on-call hours at a community health center.
Compounds pharmaceutical preparations, labels and packages medications, and assists with or supervises IV preparation and delivery. Advises patients and medical staff on medication use, including dosage, side effects, and various interactions. Ensures proper controls and records for narcotics and controlled substances per state and federal law.
Monitors drug therapy to identify, prevent or resolve problems, addressing issues with physicians and nurses as needed. Provides clinical pharmacy services and administers immunizations after reviewing patient profiles. Demonstrates commitment to patient safety by complying with regulations and participating in error reduction initiatives.
Maintains policies, quality standards, and professional growth through seminars and affiliations. Assists with medication delivery for personal and long-term care. Fosters teamwork and outstanding service while practicing fiscal responsibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy Required
- Less than 1 year relevant experience Required
- Licensed Registered Pharmacist Upon Hire Required
- Authorization to Administer Injectables for Pharmacist Upon Hire Required
- Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
- Completion of degree program from accredited school of pharmacy Upon Hire Required
Responsibilities

- Ensures proper controls and records of narcotics and other controlled substances as required by state and federal law
- Monitors drug therapy to identify, prevent or resolve actual or potential drug therapy problems
- Provides clinical pharmacy services as needed
- Administers immunizations and reviews patient profiles for immunization qualification
- Assists with and/or supervises personal care/long term care medication delivery
