About this role

The Retail Pharmacist Team Leader is responsible for all aspects of operations, regulatory compliance, clinical practice, medication safety, functional on-site people management, and practice advancement for their supervising pharmacy and associated remote dispensing sites. They act as an authority on clinical and operations, promoting a culture congruent with ThedaCare’s mission, vision, values and Pharmacy’s team commitments. This role redefines retail pharmacy practice by establishing high quality clinical care and reliable patient experiences.

Daily operations include clinical, dispensing, distributing, inventory management, and financial domains across the pharmacy and remote sites. Responsibilities encompass operationalizing regulatory compliance with federal, state regulations, and ThedaCare policies. The leader champions clinical and operational initiatives, partnering with stakeholders for strategic growth and optimal patient outcomes.

On-site people management covers the entire human resources life cycle for pharmacy employees. As a contributing member of the interdisciplinary patient care team, the leader drives safe and effective patient outcomes. They function as a fully licensed and competent pharmacist across all services offered.

Requirements

  • Authority on clinical and operational aspects of retail pharmacy and remote dispensing sites
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance for federal, state, and accrediting pharmacy standards
  • Proficiency in medication safety and clinical pharmacy practice
  • Experience in on-site people management and human resources life cycle
  • Knowledge of 340B program operations in pharmacy settings
  • Ability to champion change management and practice advancement in retail pharmacy
  • Full licensure as a pharmacist with competence across dispensing and clinical services

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the pharmacy and associated remote dispensing sites including clinical, dispensing, distributing, inventory management, and financial domains
  • Operationalize regulatory compliance congruent with applicable federal and state regulations, external accrediting authorities, and expert governing bodies
  • Operationalize all ThedaCare policies and procedures within pharmacy and associated remote dispensing sites
  • Champion all clinical and operational initiatives, partnering with key service line stakeholders to drive strategic growth, program integrity, financial viability, and optimal patient outcomes
  • Provide on-site people management transcending the entire human resources life cycle for employees within pharmacy
  • Serve as contributing member of the interdisciplinary patient care team, driving safe and effective patient outcomes
  • Function as a fully licensed and competent pharmacist along the entire spectrum of services offered through pharmacy and associated remote dispensing sites
  • Maintain operational knowledge of 340B program as it relates to pharmacy
