About this role

This Pharmacy Technician role at Providence Home Services Oregon in Portland performs all typical duties of a retail, mail order, and specialty pharmacy staff technician as defined by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy. They fill physician orders for patient medications under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

Daily responsibilities include communicating with and servicing the needs of pharmacy clientele. The technician applies advanced knowledge and skills in one or more specialty areas, such as immunization administration or medication therapy management (MTM). This expertise ensures accurate medication dispensing and patient consultation.

Requirements

  • Upon hire: Oregon Pharmacy Technician License or Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check as required by Providence policy.
  • Minimum of 1 year (2080 hours) of pharmacy practice experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Internal promotion candidates must be competent in all responsibilities of an Associate Pharmacy Technician; external candidates must have equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program.
  • Preferred: National Certification (CPhT).

Responsibilities

  • Fill physician orders for patient medications under a Registered Pharmacist's supervision.
  • Perform all typical duties of a retail, mail order, and specialty pharmacy staff technician as defined by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy.
  • Communicate with and service the needs of pharmacy clientele.
  • Apply advanced knowledge and skills in one or more specialty areas, such as immunization administration or medication therapy management (MTM).
  • Ensure accurate medication preparation and dispensing according to local pharmacy drug outlet procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with Oregon Board of Pharmacy regulations and Providence policies.
