In this role, you will work closely with pharmacists to prepare medications, assist patients, and ensure smooth day-to-day pharmacy operations. Your day-to-day includes receiving and processing prescription orders, verifying patient information, and preparing sterile and non-sterile medications under pharmacist supervision.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • One year of prior pharmacy experience is preferred but not required
  • Valid and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification required in the state(s) of practice
  • Registered and in good standing with the applicable Board of Pharmacy
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and patient care
  • Ability to navigate computer and systems
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Receive, process, and prepare prescription orders including counting, measuring, labeling, and mixing medications as appropriate
  • Verify prescription and patient information for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications under pharmacist supervision
  • Maintain accurate patient profiles and medication records
  • Assist patients with questions, provide pricing information, and direct clinical inquiries to the pharmacist
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and security of medications in compliance with safety standards
  • Support inventory management including ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring medication levels and expirations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment
