About this role
PurposeMed is a Canadian-founded healthtech company established in 2019 with a mission to improve access to complex care for underserved communities. We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Affirming Care Pharmacy team in San Antonio, Texas. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, this role prepares, fills, dispenses, ships, and checks prescription medications.
The technician provides exceptional customer service to patients across phone, email, SMS, and secure messaging. They navigate insurance challenges, proactively identifying solutions, and maintain an efficient, safe, and tidy dispensary. They also perform final checks on prescriptions to ensure accuracy and safety.

Affirming Care Pharmacy is located in San Antonio with current hours Monday to Friday 9 AM to 5 PM, but hours may expand to evenings and weekends as we grow. Requirements
- Active registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) preferred.
- Experience working in a pharmacy setting, particularly with prescription processing and inventory management.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate final checks on prescriptions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills for navigating insurance and patient issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients across multiple channels (phone, email, SMS, secure messaging).
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients across various communication platforms: phone, email, SMS, and secure messaging.
- Navigate insurance challenges with patients and proactively identify solutions.
- Create and maintain spreadsheets to track and monitor patient records.
- Execute the end-to-end prescription process: preparing, filling, labeling, dispensing, packaging, and shipping.
- Verify prescription information is complete and accurate.
- Ensure accuracy and safety by performing final checks on new and refill prescriptions.
- Maintain an efficient, safe, and tidy dispensary.
- Perform key administrative duties, managing a high volume of inbound and outbound communications.
