About this role

Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, this role performs routine and specialized technical and clerical duties for drug distribution to patients. The Pharmacy Technician III brings excellent customer service skills and the ability to function independently within their scope of responsibility.

Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing prescription and non-prescription medications, stocking automated dispensing machines, and answering phones. This role also serves as a preceptor, assisting with orienting and training pharmacy department staff, and provides CII oversight.

This position is based in a mail center environment, supporting outpatient operations including electronic prescription processing, third party claims, and mail order. The incumbent demonstrates leadership skills on a day-to-day basis and communicates supply issues or discrepancies to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a health or related field, with 1 year of pharmacy experience, or the equivalent in education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the NH Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Answers phones and communicates supply issues, problems or discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepares prescription and non-prescription medication and/or devices.
  • Stocks and replenishes stock locations and automated dispensing machines and/or robots.
  • Serves as a preceptor and assists with orienting and training of pharmacy department staff; provides CII oversight.
  • Electronically processes prescription orders and prepares prescriptions for verification by a pharmacist.
  • Processes third party claims and assists in the call center, with mail order, prior authorizations and deposits.
  • Assists with workflow management and performs other duties as required or assigned.
