Bupa Cromwell Hospital is a leading private hospital in London with 180 beds, six theatres, level 2 and 3 intensive care, paediatrics, and dedicated day surgery. As a Clinical Pharmacist you deliver a comprehensive patient-centred pharmacy service that supports safe and effective medicines management across inpatient and outpatient areas.

Daily work includes participation in antibiotic stewardship rounds, therapeutic drug monitoring, medicines reconciliation, and dispensary validation. You advise nursing staff on controlled-drug custody, counsel patients on safe medication use, and ensure prescriptions meet clinical and legal standards.

Requirements

  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Postgraduate diploma in Clinical Pharmacy with CPD Portfolio and working towards RPS faculty accreditation
  • Experience in an Outpatients pharmacy
  • Managerial experience in a hospital environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive and patient-centred Clinical Pharmacy service including antibiotic stewardship rounds, therapeutic drug monitoring, medicines reconciliation and dispensary support
  • Facilitate and promote rational and optimal medicines usage across wards and departments
  • Supply assimilated and relevant medicines information to healthcare professionals and patients
  • Perform regular monitoring of medicines management including Controlled Drugs and advise nursing staff on legal control and safe custody
  • Validate prescriptions in the dispensary to ensure appropriateness for the patient
  • Provide medication counselling to patients to enable safe and effective use of their medicines
  • Participate in ward rounds and clinical handover to promote the pharmacist role within the multidisciplinary team
