About this role
As an integral member of the Precision Medicine team, the Pharmacogenomics Pharmacist coordinates, collaborates and provides expertise in support of clinical pharmacogenomic services. Performs educational and administrative responsibilities. Implements and sustains the rational and ethical use of pharmacogenomic testing as part of routine patient care, leading efforts to guide optimal drug selection and dosing based on results.
Advocates for and implements optimal pharmacogenomic testing to aid drug and dosage selection. Designs patient-specific drug and dosage regimens based on a person’s pharmacogenomic profile, pharmacokinetic properties, drug interactions, comorbidities, demographics, and laboratory data. Provides clinical recommendations for testing and/or orders preemptive or reactive pharmacogenomic testing to optimize patient outcomes.
Works collaboratively with the Supervisor of Precision Pharmacology to support APPE, PGY1, and PGY2 learning experiences as a preceptor. Provides accurate, adequate, and timely pharmacogenomic information to medical staff, nursing staff, and patients. Develops staff education programs related to pharmacogenomics and orients internal and external staff.
Maintains professional development, licensure, and board certification when applicable. Participates in committees, educational rounds, journal clubs, and training of new employees and pharmacy residents. Develops institutional guidelines and processes for the clinical pharmacogenomic program while conducting pharmacogenomic research.
Requirements
- Current pharmacist licensure
- Board certification when applicable

- Experience precepting pharmacy residents and interns
- Knowledge of drug-gene interactions and pharmacogenomic testing
Responsibilities

- Develop institutional guidelines and processes for clinical pharmacogenomic program
