Handle investigational drug products by receiving from sponsors, confirming receipt, and documenting in accountability systems. Process returns for damaged or expired items, distribute to storage, and maintain inventory counts with expiration checks. Assist with compounding, packaging for shipping, and monitoring storage conditions.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of investigational drug accountability and clinical trial protocols
  • Ability to perform sterile and non-sterile compounding of study drugs
  • Experience with pharmacy inventory management and expiration tracking
  • Familiarity with drug storage environmental monitoring and reporting
  • Attention to detail for auditing dispensing records and discrepancies
  • Proficiency in documenting transactions in study drug systems

Responsibilities

  • Receives investigational drug products from various study drug sponsors via carriers and confirms correct product received
  • Documents inventory transactions in investigational drug studies accountability systems
  • Processes damaged, expired, or dispensed products for returns
  • Distributes and stocks drugs in appropriate storage space
  • Assists with maintaining inventory of drugs and supplies, confirming counts and checking expiration dating
  • Assists with preparing invoices for billing
  • Assists with internal auditing of drug dispensing records under IDS pharmacist supervision to ensure compliance
  • Monitors refrigerators, freezers temperatures, and environmental controls for drug storage
