The Retail Pharmacist joins the Retail Pharmacy department at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL. This per diem role requires flexibility for as-needed shifts from 7a to 7p, Monday through Friday. Coordinate activities under the supervising pharmacist to deliver pharmaceutical care.

Under supervision of the pharmacist in charge, coordinate pharmacy department activities for highest quality care. Serve patients across General Medicine/Surgical, Intensive Care Services, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Care, Oncology, Peri-operative, Geriatrics, and Outpatient Services. Prioritize patient safety in all operations.

Work within the outpatient pharmacy supporting hospital-wide patient needs. Collaborate in a dynamic environment handling diverse medical specialties. Flexibility accommodates varying demands of inpatient and outpatient pharmaceutical services.

Requirements

  • Current state Registered Pharmacist License
  • Experience in retail pharmacy operations preferred
  • B.S. degree in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred
  • Vaccine license preferred (as allowed by state)
  • BLS certification preferred (required if active vaccination license)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the activities of the pharmacy department under the supervision of the pharmacist in charge of the outpatient pharmacy
  • Provide the highest quality of pharmaceutical care to all patients served by the hospital or the outpatient pharmacy
  • Ensure patient safety in the delivery of pharmaceutical services
  • Support pharmaceutical needs for General Medicine/Surgical and Intensive Care Services patients
  • Deliver care for Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Emergency Care patients
  • Handle prescriptions for Oncology, Peri-operative, Geriatrics, and Outpatient Services
