This onsite Pharmacy Technician position at Tower Health's pharmacies supports several locations with rotating weekends and holidays. You will be at the heart of patient care, obtaining clinical and prescription plan information to prepare orders.
Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, you will create patient profiles and enter prescription information into the pharmacy system. You will communicate with patients, prescribers, and insurance providers to resolve issues and ensure proper adjudication. You will also retrieve medications for pharmacist review, operate point-of-sale, and assist with concierge delivery.
This role is compliance critical, requiring continual adherence to division, corporate, and regulatory requirements. You will work in a team-oriented environment supporting multiple pharmacy locations with a focus on customer service and patient care. The fast-paced setting demands positivity, charisma, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Requirements

- Minimum of 2 years directly related and progressively responsible ambulatory pharmacy experience.
- Knowledge of pharmacy information systems and prescription adjudication processes.

- Attention to detail and compliance critical mindset.
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Create patient profiles in the pharmacy information system.
- Enter new prescription information and necessary plan data for adjudication.
- Communicate with patients, prescribers, and staff to solve problems or answer questions.
- Address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues by communicating with insurance providers, patients, and pharmacists.
- Retrieve and prepare medications for pharmacist review and verification.
- Answer inbound telephone calls and triage calls as appropriate to the appropriate staff.
- Operate the point-of-sale system.
- Assist with review and handling of adjudicated prescription claims to ensure appropriateness of reimbursement and co-pay.
