About this role
Under the supervision of the pharmacist in charge of the outpatient pharmacy, the Retail Pharmacist coordinates the activities of the pharmacy department. This role provides the highest quality of pharmaceutical care to all patients served by the hospital or outpatient pharmacy. Patient safety remains a core focus across all services.
The scope of patient care includes General Medicine/Surgical, Intensive Care Services, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Care, Oncology, Peri-operative, Geriatrics, and Outpatient Services. Daily operations occur Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm on a per diem schedule. This ensures consistent support in a hospital outpatient setting.

Requirements
- Current state Registered Pharmacist License
- Experience in retail pharmacy operations preferred
- B.S. degree in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred
- Vaccine license preferred (as allowed by state)
- BLS certification preferred (required if active vaccination license)
Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities of the pharmacy department under supervision of the pharmacist in charge
- Provide highest quality pharmaceutical care to hospital and outpatient pharmacy patients
- Ensure patient safety across all services provided
- Support General Medicine/Surgical, Intensive Care Services, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics
- Deliver care in Emergency Care, Oncology, Peri-operative, Geriatrics, and Outpatient Services
- Operate in retail pharmacy environment with focus on outpatient dispensing and counseling
