About this role

You will support the pharmacy operation by ensuring every medicine that leaves is correct and fully compliant. Accuracy checking dispensed medicines while upholding rigorous standards is central to the role. You are trusted to lead, spot problems early, and raise quality for the entire team.

Daily work involves carrying out accuracy checks on all dispensed medicines and taking full ownership of the end-to-end dispensing process. Maintaining precise prescription records and escalating any discrepancies immediately are essential duties. Working at pace alongside colleagues ensures patients receive exactly what they need.

Requirements

  • Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Services (ACT) or equivalent ACT qualification
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC
  • Proven experience in a pharmacy setting with a strong track record in accuracy checking
  • Deep working knowledge of pharmacy regulations, policies and SOPs
  • Exceptional attention to detail that cannot be switched off

Responsibilities

  • Carry out accuracy checks on dispensed medicines ensuring full compliance with legal, operational and safety standards
  • Take ownership of the end-to-end dispensing process
  • Maintain clear, accurate prescription records and escalate discrepancies without hesitation
  • Actively mentor junior colleagues and build a team culture rooted in accountability, safety and quality
  • Stay current on professional development, best practice and regulatory changes
  • Work with pace and purpose to ensure every patient receives exactly what they need

Benefits

  • Hourly rate of £16 to £18
  • 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid break
  • Monday to Friday shifts with start times from 8am to 10am
