About this role

As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you will be a key part of a collaborative team dedicated to building a service-conscious pharmacy environment. Your role focuses on developing great relationships with patients while providing safe, accurate, and efficient care.

Day-to-day responsibilities include welcoming patients with compassion, processing orders in person and by phone, and directing patients to products and merchandise. You will also use the pharmacy computer to complete actions at drop-off, will call, drive-thru, phone, filling, and order receiving.

You will work alongside a supportive team to maintain a neat and clean work environment, ensuring company and government requirements are met. The team consistently looks to exceed expectations and meet patient needs through collaboration and respect.

This trainee position offers the opportunity to complete a required training program and accompanying exams, building a foundation for growth in the pharmacy field. You will assist in executing company initiatives and programs, contributing to the best patient, team member, and company outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
  • Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Eligible to obtain registration as a pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy
  • Lifting Requirement: Up to 25 pounds
  • Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to complete required training program and accompanying exams

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and immediately acknowledge them with compassion and a smile at all pharmacy entry points.
  • Model excellent patient care by respecting, engaging, and enthusiastically meeting or exceeding all patient needs, including processing orders in person and by phone.
  • Use the pharmacy computer to complete all actions necessary to maximize efficiency and provide optimal patient care at drop-off, will call, drive-thru, phone, filling, and order receiving.
  • Assist team members with tasks to ensure the department runs efficiently.
  • Transcribe data from prescriptions accurately to generate a custom label for the customer.
  • Assist with maintaining proper inventory levels by ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating drugs and other supplies per company policy and procedure.
  • Resolve customer questions and concerns by communicating effectively with the customer, management team, and support staff.
  • Follow all company, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations, including HIPAA and Pseudoephedrine sales.
