Ferry County Health serves as the sole Critical Access Hospital for Ferry County in Northeast Washington. The Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist-In-Charge ensures regulatory compliance while leading safe and effective medication dispensing. Daily work includes reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, monitoring patient profiles for allergies and interactions, and managing controlled substance records. Requirements
- Active pharmacist license with authority to serve as Pharmacist-In-Charge
- Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws, DEA requirements, and Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Proficiency in pharmacy computer systems for patient profiles, charging, and medication records
- Experience managing controlled substance compliance and quality control procedures
- Ability to perform all patient care aspects while minimizing medical errors
Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, and DEA policies
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records including controlled substances, inventories, logs, and temperature documentation
- Manage controlled substance ordering, receiving, storage, dispensing, reconciliation, and discrepancy reporting
- Oversee pharmacy licensing, renewals, inspections, and audits
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine required formulas and ingredients
- Monitor patient profiles to identify drug allergies, interactions, duplicate therapy, and incompatibilities
- Direct pharmacy staff engaged in admixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals
- Provide information to physicians, nurses, and patients on medication use, interactions, side effects, and storage
