We are looking for quality minded individuals who have attention to detail and want to learn more about compounding. This work is very hands on and includes the opportunity to learn many different skills in a closed-door setting.

Centralized Compounding is a unique closed-door pharmacy department that services all of IU Health’s facilities including both inpatient and outpatient settings across the system.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required
  • Indiana Pharmacy Tech-In Training OR Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy
  • Pharmacy Technician National Certification within one year of hire unless enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy or ASHP/ACPE accredited program
  • Absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs
  • Strong mathematical calculation skills
  • Ability to learn basic pharmacy technician skills and work under close supervision
  • Basic proficiency typing and using Microsoft office applications

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on compounding tasks with attention to detail
  • Learn and apply many different compounding skills in a closed-door pharmacy
  • Support medication preparation for inpatient and outpatient facilities across IU Health
  • Execute basic pharmacy technician skills under close supervision or clearly defined procedures
  • Apply strong mathematical calculation skills during daily operations
  • Deliver customer service skills while working in assigned areas
