Calgary Co-op Pharmacies provide a highly professional environment with a deep commitment to the highest patient care standards. The Pharmacy Assistant (Central Fill) reports to the Pharmacy Manager and assists with the technical aspects of dispensing prescriptions and administrative duties.
Your day-to-day involves interacting with customers and employees in a positive manner to enhance customer service and create a healthy work environment. You will assist the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions, requiring a high degree of concentration and attention to detail and accuracy.
You will help manage dispensary inventories through ordering, receiving, and rotating stock, and assist with current merchandising practices when not occupied with prescription duties. The role also includes general housekeeping and maintaining the department's appearance.

Requirements
- Attentiveness to detail and accuracy when assisting in filling prescriptions
- Ability to follow customer care and service standards of Calgary Co-op
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn Alberta Pharmaceutical Association guidelines and Co-op policies
- Capability to operate within the pharmacy department's operating objectives
- Understanding of basic inventory management and merchandising practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Self-motivation to assist with a variety of tasks from prescription filling to housekeeping
Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions with a high degree of concentration and attentiveness to detail
- Interact with customers and employees in a positive manner to enhance customer services and create a healthy work environment
- Help manage dispensary inventories through ordering, receiving, and rotating stock, and returning outdated or unsaleable products
- Assist in current merchandising practices when not occupied with filling a prescription
- Be familiar with all merchandise carried in the department and new products in the pharmaceutical and retail industry
- Assist in the proper care and maintenance of pharmacy equipment
- Perform general housekeeping duties and maintain the department's appearance
- Support special projects and focus on continuous improvement as directed
