As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be at the heart of our pharmacy operations, ensuring our community receives medications safely and efficiently. You assist pharmacists in preparing, filling, and delivering medications as a vital member of our team.

Your daily responsibilities include obtaining and entering patient information, processing insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations, and maintaining adequate stock of medications. You will also perform weekly controlled substance cycle counts, complete daily and monthly activity checklists, and reconcile prescription fills against billing. You prioritize tasks based on workload to ensure efficient operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate.
  • Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Ability to pass a math test pertinent to pharmacy calculations.
  • Experience with pharmacy dispensing and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of insurance adjudication and pre-authorization processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists by obtaining and entering patient information to ensure appropriate medication doses.
  • Ensure patients receive correct medications using proper dispensing procedures.
  • Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies, using safety precautions when stocking.
  • Process insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations promptly.
  • Perform weekly controlled substance cycle counts and document appropriately.
  • Participate in the education of new employees and training of pharmacy staff.
  • Reconcile prescription fills against billing and perform other assigned duties.
  • Provide positive customer service at the cash register, adhering to Legacy Community Health's standards.
