The Pharmacy Technician IV works under the supervision of the pharmacist in the Specialty Pharmacy at UAMS. This role provides excellent customer service to patients receiving specialty medications. Requirements
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- Arkansas Pharmacy Technician registration
- Experience in specialty pharmacy operations
- Knowledge of insurance billing and prior authorizations
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems
- Ability to manage complex patient cases
- Understanding of controlled substance handling
Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of the pharmacist
- Provide excellent customer service to patients receiving specialty medications
- Manage patient intake and benefit investigations for specialty drugs
- Process prior authorizations and insurance verifications
- Maintain inventory of high-cost specialty medications
- Assist with medication dispensing and packaging
