UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Tech to join the Outpatient Truman Pharmacy team. This full-time day shift role is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus. Salary ranges from minimum $41,305 to midpoint $51,621, determined by total relevant experience and 1.0 FTE.

Under general supervision within UNMMG and UNM Truman Health Services guidelines, the position provides technical and administrative assistance in daily pharmacy operations. Duties include assisting in dispensing prescription pharmaceuticals, direct customer assistance, routine problem resolution for patients, and coordinating billing, cash management, and inventory activities. This supports overall pharmacy functionality in a patient-focused environment.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Currently registered with State of New Mexico as Certified Pharmacy Technician
- National ExCPT or PTCB certification required
- Completed degree from accredited institution above minimum education may substitute for experience on year-for-year basis
- Verification of education and licensure required if selected for hire
Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist in filling, preparing, and dispensing prescriptions; count, package, and label unit doses for inspection
- Assist patients dropping off or picking up prescription orders; verify correct prescriptions at point of sale
- Enter patient prescription orders into computerized database; create and maintain patient health and insurance information
- Format and upload patient insurance data for billing; monitor reimbursements
- Communicate with prescribing practitioners for refill authorizations and with third-party payers for prescription claims
- Assist with inventory control including ordering drugs, removing outdated stock, checking orders, and performing periodic inventories
- Receive and process pharmaceutical deliveries from vendors; place on shelves per protocol
- Process vendor invoices; monitor purchase orders and enter requests for new orders or revisions
