As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will assist the Pharmacy Manager in day-to-day workload management. You will collaborate with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants to fulfill prescription orders and work independently on labeling and filling or refilling prescriptions.
You will perform independent double checks for repeat prescription release and verify that customers receive the correct prescriptions. Your role includes identifying potential therapeutic issues and seeking the Pharmacist’s therapeutic check, as well as working collaboratively with Innomar and ABSG Patient Programs.
You will prepare, review, and process billings, claims, and disbursements, and assist patients picking up prescriptions. The role also involves entering prescriptions into the computer, screening calls, and maintaining accurate inventory. You may be required to be on standby or on call as part of this role.
Requirements
- Pharmacy Technician diploma from an accredited college and successful completion of Structured Practical Training or OCP Bridging Program
- Certificate of Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP)
- Two or more years of related pharmacy experience
- Strong proficiency in Kroll required
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service
- Effective interpersonal skills to work within a multi-disciplinary team
Responsibilities
