South Country Co-op is currently seeking a Pharmacy Student to join our team as a Pharmacy Assistant. This seasonal position is based at Northlands Pharmacy in Medicine Hat, AB. This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and works under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist on Duty. The Pharmacy Assistant performs technical duties including data entry and preliminary filling of prescriptions. A high degree of direct patient contact is crucial in developing positive patient experiences.
The role suits highly organized, customer-focused individuals capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Duties are limited by the Provincial Regulatory Body for authorized tasks. Pharmacy Assistants assist with daily operational tasks while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.

Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy Technician Diploma program at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficient data entry skills; Microsoft Office experience is an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and support positive patient experiences
- Assist with data entry and prescription processing
- Support preliminary filling of prescriptions under supervision
- Assist pharmacy staff with daily operational tasks
- Respond to customer and patient inquiries in a professional manner
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with pharmacy regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the pharmacy
