Join UW Health as a Clinical Pharmacist at East Madison Hospital, one of the most advanced hospitals and wellness centers in the country. In this role, you will provide patient care to a diverse population including emergency department patients and med/surg patients, supporting pharmacy services in both central and decentralized settings.

Your day-to-day work will involve medication therapy management, order verification, and clinical decision-making across day, evening, and night shifts. The role includes a 50/50 split of AM and PM shifts ranging from 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM, with up to three weeks of overnight shifts per year and weekend and holiday rotation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a PharmD degree required
  • 1 year of clinical patient care and orders management experience required
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Wisconsin within 90 days required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days required
  • Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification within 180 days required
  • Completion of an ASHP Accredited Residency training program preferred
  • 3 years of institutional experience (hospital or integrated health system) or completion of an ASHP accredited residency training program preferred
  • Certification through an appropriate certifying program (Board of Pharmacy Specialties, National Board of Nutrition Support Certification, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care to a diverse population including emergency department patients and med/surg patients
  • Support pharmacy services in central and decentralized settings
  • Precept UW School of Pharmacy students
  • Manage medication therapy for a growing hospital environment
  • Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as required
  • Work a 50/50 split of AM and PM shifts ranging from 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM
  • Cover up to three weeks of overnight shifts per year
