About this role

This role monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcomes and quality of care, recommending rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives while ensuring accurate and efficient medication distribution. The clinical pharmacist also implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens.

Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising pharmacy technical staff and collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize medication therapy in a fast-paced hospital environment. The pharmacist must be able to prioritize and change tasks frequently and quickly while maintaining a focus on patient safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy degree from an accredited university
  • License to practice pharmacy in Alabama required
  • Completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience strongly preferred
  • Proof of current AHA BLS must be provided or obtained by the end of the orientation period
  • Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be proficient in mathematics
