About this role
The Pharmacy Technician Senior Representative role is an important part of the Express Scripts Specialty Distribution Services team. This position assists with specialty prescription processing by ensuring complete and accurate information is obtained from prescriber offices. The ideal candidate brings excellent customer service skills along with a working knowledge of medical terminology.
Daily work centers on contacting doctors and patients to gather required details and completing data entry of prescriptions after review for accuracy. The role requires handling multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining organized and following work instructions, policies, and regulations. Mandatory overtime may be needed at times to meet business needs.
This position is not work-site dependent, allowing most work to be performed at home with occasional time at a Cigna office. The standard schedule runs 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. A reliable internet connection meeting minimum speed requirements is necessary for remote work.
Team members serve as subject matter experts and may assist with training newly hired pharmacy technicians. Additional duties can include cross-training to support other functional areas as assigned. The role offers growth and advancement potential within a division focused on improving health outcomes.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Current Missouri Pharmacy Technician license in good standing required.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience; specialty pharmacy setting preferred.
- Basic working knowledge of email, Word, and general computing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Ability to learn internal systems, processes and programs as needed.
- Problem solving and basic math skills with strong time management.
Responsibilities
- Contact doctors and/or patients regarding need for complete and accurate information for prescription processing.
- Complete data entry of prescriptions after reviewing for completeness and accuracy.
- Work with pharmacists per work instructions, policy and procedures, management direction or any national or state regulations.
- Complete training on Risk Evaluation and Mitigations Strategies (REMS) program requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and assist with questions/issues for team members in coordination with supervisor.
- Assist with training of newly hired pharmacy technicians.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and support other functional areas through cross-training.
