Puyallup Tribal Health Authority seeks a compassionate, motivated Pharmacy Technician to launch their career with purpose. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced clinical pharmacy setting while making a meaningful difference in our community.

You will assist pharmacists with prescription preparation and dispensing, triage patients at the pharmacy window, and process new and refill prescriptions via multiple channels. Additional duties include performing pharmaceutical calculations, verifying patient information, troubleshooting insurance billing, and maintaining inventory.

Our high-volume pharmacy fills 800–1,200 prescriptions daily, and you will rotate through all work areas alongside experienced pharmacists and a welcoming healthcare team. You will also participate in monthly pharmacy meetings and annual required trainings.

Whether you are just beginning your pharmacy journey or bringing experience, you will build confidence in prescription processing, patient service, and inventory management. You may also support training of technical staff in billing and inventory control.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Pharmacy Technician certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
Proficiency in basic pharmaceutical calculations
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
Strong attention to detail in prescription processing and documentation
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume pharmacy environment
Willingness to learn and rotate through all pharmacy work areas

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists with prescription preparation and dispensing
Triage patients at the pharmacy window with professionalism and compassion
Process new and refill prescriptions via phone, electronic, fax, and in person
Perform pharmaceutical calculations, labeling, counting, pouring, and mixing medications
Verify patient information, eligibility, and insurance
Troubleshoot third-party billing rejections and complete prior authorizations
Maintain pharmaceutical inventory, inspect for outdates, and restock as needed
Rotate through all pharmacy work areas to support team workflow
