About this role

Spire Hartswood Hospital is looking for an Oncology Pharmacist to cover a 12-month maternity leave on a full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. You will work alongside specialist Oncology nurses and consultants to build rapport with patients and ensure the highest level of patient care. The 49-bed hospital with 4 theatres offers a comprehensive range of services and facilities.

In this role, you will liaise with specialist nursing staff to manage daily patient workload and utilise planning skills to order chemotherapy medications ready for treatment. Pre-assess patients by reviewing test results and assessing safety to proceed. Review and release medications at discharge, and make follow-up calls to review side effects and provide support.

You will work as part of a close-knit specialist oncology and haematology team ensuring a highly personalised service to patients. Requirements

  • GPHC registered with no restrictions or conditions to practice
  • Experience within an Oncology Pharmacy essential, ideally 2 years post registration
  • Current dispensing and screening experience
  • Confident ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to continue to develop the service

Responsibilities
