In this part-time role working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 15:00 to 23:00, you will take on the responsibilities of the Responsible Pharmacist, ensuring the safe and compliant running of the facility. You will oversee high-volume dispensary operations, clinically check NHS and private prescriptions, and support the clinical operations team with patient safety as the highest priority.

You will provide clinical guidance to the dispensary and facility operations teams, manage prescription queries within agreed SLAs, and review and escalate incidents, near misses, and risks. Collaboration with the Professional Standards team is key to maintaining legal, ethical, and GPhC-compliant pharmacy governance.

Requirements

  • Current GPhC registration as a Pharmacist
  • Experience working in a high-volume dispensary or pharmacy environment
  • Strong knowledge of NHS and private prescription clinical checking
  • Ability to act as Responsible Pharmacist with accountability for safe and compliant facility operations
  • Understanding of pharmacy governance and legal obligations
  • Commitment to patient safety and clinical accuracy as the highest priority

Responsibilities

  • Assume Responsible Pharmacist duties and maintain legal, ethical, and GPhC-compliant pharmacy governance
  • Oversee safe and effective dispensary operations in a high-volume environment
  • Clinically check all NHS and private prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, and safety
  • Ensure prescription queries and responses are managed within agreed SLAs to support patient safety
  • Review and appropriately escalate incidents, near misses, and risks
  • Provide clinical guidance to the dispensary and facility operations teams
  • Liaise with Professional Standards to uphold regulatory compliance
