
About this role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. You will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring safe and accurate pharmaceutical care for patients. Responsibilities include managing inventory, processing prescriptions, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Day-to-day tasks involve accurately preparing, labeling, and dispensing prescribed medications under pharmacist direction. You will receive and review prescription orders for accuracy and compliance, monitor inventory levels, and restock medications per safety regulations. Additional duties include compounding medications and maintaining patient records.
In this role, you will work closely with pharmacists in a compliant pharmacy environment, following all safety protocols and regulations. Provide professional customer service by answering patient questions and addressing concerns under guidance. Assist with administrative tasks like insurance claims and reports.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a pharmacy technician program preferred
- Licensed in the State of Illinois as a Pharmacy Technician; Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with pharmacy software, prescription processing systems, and inventory management tools
- Understanding of pharmacology, medical terminology, and pharmaceutical laws and regulations
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity
Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescribed medications to patients as directed by a licensed pharmacist
- Receive and review prescription orders from patients or healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Monitor inventory levels, restock medications, and ensure proper storage per safety regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by answering patient questions and addressing concerns professionally
- Assist in the compounding of medications such as creams and ointments, adhering to guidelines
- Maintain accurate patient and medication records, documenting all transactions in compliance with regulations
- Assist in packaging and labeling medications with clear, accurate information per legal requirements
- Follow all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations, including maintaining patient confidentiality
Benefits
- Hourly range $15.00-$20.38
- Eligible for evening/night shift incentive based on company policies
