About this role
This is a Fixed Term Full Time position to cover Parental Leave for 12 months at 80 hours per fortnight within the Oncology Pharmacy Team. Part-Time applications for 64 hours per fortnight will be considered. Responsible for provision of pharmacy oncology services to the Children’s Cancer Centre Day Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
Work with a collaborative team of senior oncology pharmacists to deliver a high quality pharmacy service across CCC. Lead an outpatient service, including patient medication counselling, provision of specialised drug information, dispensing services, maintenance of oncology protocols in the EMR, and aseptic drug preparation for cytotoxic and hazardous medications.
Participate in relevant committees, multidisciplinary meetings, and clinical trials within the Children’s Cancer Centre. The Royal Children’s Hospital has cared for children for more than 150 years, providing tertiary and quaternary care with a multidisciplinary focus on patient safety.
Maintain professional working relationships with patients and health professionals to ensure effective outcomes. Commit to professional memberships including the Children’s Oncology Group and ANZCHOG. Participate in the weekend, overtime, and on-call roster for Oncology Pharmacy.
Requirements
- Entry to practice tertiary qualification
- Demonstrated commitment to work and contribute as part of a team
- Proven capacity for clinical leadership in a team environment
- Experience leading outpatient oncology pharmacy services
- Knowledge of oncology protocols and EMR maintenance
- Skills in aseptic preparation of cytotoxic medications
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with patients and health professionals
- Commitment to professional memberships in Children’s Oncology Group and ANZCHOG
