Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician provides 8-hour shift coverage in the inpatient pharmacy at Driscoll Children's Hospital. This role assists the pharmacist in the preparation, filling, and delivery of medications while serving as a liaison for timely information and product delivery to customers.

Daily work includes preparing accurate medication orders, participating in cart fills, and delivering doses to patient care areas and clinics. The technician also processes requisitions, restocks inventory, pre-packages unit dose items, and completes quality assurance checks such as refrigerator logs and expired medication reviews.

Team members maintain confidentiality, follow hospital policies, and demonstrate ethical business practices in a pediatric environment. Collaboration with pharmacists ensures all orders are verified and that legal limitations of the technician role are observed during daily operations.

Opportunities include training new pharmacists and technicians, supporting accurate revenue capture through billing, and completing annual aseptic technique certification. The position offers exposure to diverse inpatient and outpatient pharmacy functions within a children's hospital setting.
