Pharmacists are important members of the HSHS care team, helping to support the delivery of safe and healing patient care through their education and training. They act as a liaison between allied health professionals and RNs by providing accurate and rational drug therapy used in healing and treating patient illnesses and conditions.

In this PRN role at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL, you will collaborate with the pharmacy department and clinical staff to ensure optimal medication management. Your day-to-day responsibilities include verifying orders, monitoring drug interactions, and offering evidence-based recommendations to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy - Required
Master's or Doctorate in Pharmacy - Preferred
Residency training - Preferred
Board Certification - Preferred
Licensed in the state of practice or eligible for license - Required
Ability to provide accurate and rational drug therapy across a variety of patient conditions

Responsibilities

Act as a liaison between allied health professionals and RNs by providing accurate and rational drug therapy for healing and treating patient illnesses
Support the delivery of safe and healing patient care as an integral member of the HSHS care team
Review and verify medication orders for appropriateness, dosing, and potential interactions
Provide drug information and clinical recommendations to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff
Monitor patient outcomes and adjust therapy plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
Participate in pharmacy operations and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
