About this role
We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Woodthorpe Hospital, part of Ramsay Health Care UK. You will be committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes in a supported environment where your skills and expertise are valued.
As a key member of the department, you will support the Pharmacy Manager in the provision of pharmacy services including ordering, stock control, and preparation of drugs and medicines. You will also provide straightforward advice to patients and clinical staff on pharmaceutical products within the limits of your role.
You will help ensure Inpatient Prescription Record Charts are checked regularly for appropriate treatment, both clinical and financially, and carry out medicines reconciliation as needed. Woodthorpe Hospital is a leading private and NHS Choose & Book hospital with an excellent reputation and a CQC rating of 'Good' across all five domains.
This is a Bank contract offering flexible employment with no set hours, allowing you to choose shifts that fit your availability for a greater work-life balance. You will work on an ad-hoc basis filling in shifts as needed.
Requirements
- NVQ3 or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science (or equivalent level qualification)
- Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- At least 4 GCSEs at grades A-C, including English, Maths, and Science (or equivalent qualifications)
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Demonstrated computer skills
- Desirable: experience working in a hospital environment
Responsibilities
- Support the Pharmacy Manager in ordering, stock control, and preparation of drugs and medicines
- Provide straightforward advice to patients, carers, and clinical staff on pharmaceutical products
- Ensure that Inpatient Prescription Record Charts are checked regularly to confirm appropriate treatment and sufficient supplies
- Carry out medicines reconciliation as a daily requirement
- Maintain agreed standards of patient care and confidentiality in accordance with Ramsay policies
- Adhere to General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards of conduct, ethics, and performance
