This role supports the pharmacist in preparing medications and IV fluids, and delivering products to various hospital departments. The pharmacy technician works under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

In nursing areas, the technician interviews patients to obtain medication histories, ensuring accurate records for safe care. The position operates during a day shift from 8:00am to 4:30pm, totaling 40 weekly hours.

The technician works within a hospital pharmacy environment, collaborating with nursing and pharmacy staff to support patient care. The role requires use of standard office equipment, a labeling machine, and an IV Flow Hood.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent
  • Current Certified Pharmacy Technician by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
  • Registered Pharmacy Tech with the State of Georgia as verified by the Georgia Secretary of State’s professional licensing board
  • Ability to utilize a variety of standard office equipment including computer, printers, labeling machine, fax machine, and copier
  • Computer literacy of word processing and related software
  • No prior experience required

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the preparation of medications and IV fluids
  • Deliver products to various hospital departments

  • Operate the IV Flow Hood for sterile compounding
