About this role

CareRx is Canada's leading provider of pharmacy services to seniors communities, serving over 96,000 residents in more than 1,600 long-term care, retirement, and assisted living facilities. As a Pharmacy Assistant focused on shipping, packing, and return-to-stock, you will play a vital role in ensuring medications are accurately packaged and delivered to our clients.

Your day-to-day involves working with a runner to verify accuracy at the end of the line, packaging medications into blister packs, vials, and strips, and preparing orders for drivers. You will also assist with return-to-stock processes and help maintain the overall organization and cleanliness of the pharmacy environment.

You will work both independently and cooperatively with teammates to support the day-to-day operations of our pharmacy fulfillment centre. This role requires physical stamina, as you must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) regularly throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Previous packaging experience
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) regularly throughout the day
  • Must be motivated to achieve results that reflect a high standard of quality
  • Must demonstrate good listening skills and be adaptable to changes in job environment, procedures and tasks
  • Dependable and responsible in the execution of job duties

Responsibilities

  • Working with runner to ensure accuracy at the end of the line
  • Package medication and ensure packages are ready for drivers
  • Packing for Community Living homes, Nursing & Retirement homes
  • Packaging medications (i.e., blister packs, vials, strips)
  • Helping in Return to Stock
  • Contributing to the overall organization and cleanliness of the pharmacy environment
  • Day-to-day maintenance of pharmacy operations both independently and in cooperation with teammates
