About this role
This role supports the Home Infusion pharmacy at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will prepare and deliver sterile intravenous medications for patients receiving infusion therapy at home. Full-time position with Monday through Friday schedule, no weekends or holidays.
Daily responsibilities include compounding sterile preparations using aseptic technique, managing inventory of infusion supplies, and verifying medication orders under pharmacist supervision. You will also coordinate deliveries and communicate with patients and clinical staff to ensure timely therapy. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical in this fast-paced environment.
You will work collaboratively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a dedicated home infusion setting. The team focuses on providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals managing chronic conditions at home. This supportive environment emphasizes safety and efficiency.

Requirements
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or equivalent.
- Previous experience in sterile compounding or home infusion pharmacy preferred.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and USP <797> standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with pharmacy information systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and compound sterile intravenous admixtures for home infusion patients using aseptic technique.
- Manage inventory of medications, supplies, and equipment for the home infusion pharmacy.
- Verify medication orders, check expiration dates, and ensure proper labeling and packaging.
- Coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely distribution of infusion products to patients' homes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and pharmacists regarding therapy changes and questions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Assist pharmacists with clinical and administrative tasks as needed.
