In this position, you will assist pharmacists in accurately dispensing specialty medications, including measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions with precision. You will also review and enter prescription orders into the pharmacy system, verify patient information and insurance coverage, and resolve any discrepancies or issues to ensure smooth workflow.

You will coordinate, track, manage, and facilitate prescription delivery while adhering to packing and tracking processes. Additionally, you will monitor and maintain inventory levels of medications, collaborate with the pharmacy team to place orders, and track shipments to ensure adequate stock for patient needs.

This role offers the opportunity to provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries, addressing pharmacy-related concerns, and triaging to pharmacists as appropriate. You will also conduct initial and follow-up calls with patients to assess medication adherence, document appropriately, and support patients through financial assistance applications, including manufacturer coupon cards and foundation assistance.

Requirements

Ability to assist pharmacists in dispensing specialty medications with precision
Proficiency in reviewing and entering prescription orders into pharmacy systems accurately
Experience coordinating and managing prescription delivery processes
Skill in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of medications
Strong customer service skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals
Ability to conduct adherence monitoring calls and document patient information professionally
Knowledge of patient insurance review and financial assistance options, including manufacturer coupon cards and foundation assistance
Professionalism in all interactions, with effective communication in-person, via telephone, and electronic channels

Responsibilities

Review and enter prescription orders into pharmacy system accurately and efficiently, verifying patient information and insurance coverage
Coordinate, track, manage, and facilitate prescription delivery, adhering to packing and tracking processes
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of medications, collaborating with the pharmacy team to place orders and track shipments
Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals by answering inquiries and addressing pharmacy-related concerns
Conduct initial and follow-up calls with patients to assess medication adherence, documenting appropriately and deferring to pharmacist as agreed upon
Review patient insurance for affordability and assess availability of financial assistance options, supporting patients through the application process
Act as liaison between patient, pharmacy, and other healthcare providers to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication
