Homestead Co-op is hiring a Part Time Pharmacy Assistant at our Portage la Prairie Pharmacy. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the role involves assisting with day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department. Duties include processing prescriptions and providing patient service.

You will handle data entry of prescriptions including dosage calculations, package medications with product selection, counting, measuring, and labeling. Preparation of blister packs and compounds is also key. Adjudication and sales use pharmacy software and POS systems.

Customer service to patients occurs in person and over the telephone. Responsibilities extend to ordering and receiving inventory, plus over-the-counter department maintenance like facing, stocking, cleaning, pricing, and checking expiries.

Requirements

Proficiency in pharmacy software for data entry and adjudication
Accuracy in dosage calculations and medication measuring
Experience with prescription packaging and labeling
Knowledge of blister pack and compound preparation
Familiarity with POS systems for product sales
Skills in pharmacy inventory ordering and receiving
Ability to maintain OTC department standards

Responsibilities
