This position is responsible for remote order review and the implementation and maintenance of clinical pharmacy services for practices within The US Oncology Network. The Clinical Reviewer Pharmacist works collaboratively with The Network practice(s), leadership, and McKesson teams. Processes ensure high-quality, comprehensive, cost-effective pharmacy services that meet regulatory obligations.

In collaboration with practice leadership, develop strategies to optimize clinical efficacy, appropriate dosing, therapeutic interchange, and reimbursement initiatives. Implement P&T recommendations and improvements for patient safety across Network practices. Function as clinical pharmacist for patient-specific needs and lead clinical practice metrics development.

Requirements

  • Active Pharmacist License required; New Jersey and Connecticut licenses preferred with flexibility to gain additional licensure
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD); residency training preferred
  • Board Certified in Oncology (BCOP) preferred
  • 4+ years of practice in oncology clinical pharmacy required
  • Experience as oncology clinical pharmacist guiding sound drug utilization strategies
  • Experience developing and expanding clinical pharmacy services
  • Data analytic skills required (primary literature, medication use trends, pharmacy practice)
  • Strong working knowledge of community oncology practices

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize clinical efficacy, appropriate dosing, therapeutic interchange, reimbursement, and other drug use initiatives in collaboration with practice leadership
  • Implement mutually agreed upon therapeutic and supportive care medication use changes within the patient care setting
  • Collaborate with The Network practices to implement P&T recommendations and improvements for patient safety
  • Function as clinical pharmacist for patient-specific practice needs
  • Identify best practices within the electronic health record for medication review and suggestions for enhancements
  • Lead the development of clinical practice metrics
  • Report on clinical interventions and updates on key drug initiatives at practice P&T or applicable leadership meetings
