The Ambulatory Pharmacy Technician handles appointments, gathers and documents patient information through interviews with patients, families, caregivers, pharmacies, and medical providers. This role provides expertise in prior authorizations as applicable and may administer vaccines when in scope for the practice site.

Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- Alaska Pharmacy Technician License (must obtain upon hire).
- National Certified Pharmacy Technician certification (within 2 years of hire).
- 1 year of pharmacy technician experience if PTCB certified, or 2 years if without national certification.
- Coursework/Training: Pharmacy technician program (preferred).
- 1 year of customer service experience (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Handle patient appointments for the ambulatory clinical pharmacist.
- Gather and document patient information through interviews with patients, families, caregivers, pharmacies, and medical providers.
- Provide expertise in prior authorizations as applicable.
- Administer vaccines when in scope for the practice site.
- Process and fill medication orders under pharmacist supervision.
- Assist with medication reconciliation and patient education.
- Maintain inventory and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.
