About this role
The Pharmacy Technician Instructor provides instructional support to students across all Penn Foster Group brands, ensuring they meet established learning objectives while supporting program growth and compliance with industry standards.
Instructors deliver one-on-one academic support through distance education technologies including phone, email, SMS, and portal messaging, while holding daily office hours for tutoring and providing feedback on practicum skills assessments and clinical lab evaluations prior to externship.
They participate in curriculum design and revision, create weekly live or recorded webinars and learning resources, monitor student progress using program outcomes data, and conduct outreach for academic advising to support successful program completion.
Instructors evaluate clinical site information, State BOP licenses, drug screens, and background checks, support externship preceptors and coordinators, and contribute to accreditation efforts while completing required professional development.
Requirements
- Must be a certified pharmacy technician (CPhT) and adhere to state regulations and registration.
- Minimum of an Associate degree.
Responsibilities
- Provide data-driven interventions and outreach to meet changing industry needs.
- Review program and course-level outcomes data to determine student needs and deliver targeted support.
- Review, evaluate, and suggest program curricula changes to assure compliance with professional standards and state-mandated guidelines.
- Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours and complete grading of manually graded assignments within 5 business days.
- Provide academic support and advising using distance education technologies, appointment scheduling, webinars, and skills evaluations.
- Participate in course design, development, and revision in partnership with the program director and instructional design team.
- Create videos and online lectures, incorporate new technology in courses, and develop strategies to improve student retention.
