About this role

Ty’s Pharmacy is Langenburg’s only locally owned and operated pharmacy, opened in 2019 by Tyrel and Aubrey Thorpe. The pharmacy serves as a pillar of the community with a strong focus on patient-centred care that includes compounding, compliance packaging, and professional services.

Daily responsibilities centre on collaborating with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure positive drug therapy outcomes. The role involves conducting health screening and immunization clinics, performing medication reviews, servicing long-term care residents, and working closely with home care professionals.

The team values work-life balance, mental health support, open communication, and teamwork. The schedule runs Monday to Friday 8:30-5:00 with limited on-call hours, allowing meaningful engagement with the local health care complex, veterinary clinic, and independent residents.

Langenburg sits on Highway 16 near the Manitoba border and offers abundant outdoor recreation plus family amenities including a new K-12 school, daycare, and swimming pool. The position provides an opportunity to apply full scope of practice as a clinical pharmacist in Saskatchewan within a thriving rural community.

Requirements

  • Licensed and in good standing with SCPP
  • Injection Certification
  • Strong sense of professionalism and superior patient and physician relation skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent leadership and performance management skills an asset
  • Additional accreditation such as a CDE or a Geriatric Pharmacist an asset

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with patients’ physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure positive drug therapy outcomes
  • Conduct health screening clinics and immunization clinics
  • Perform medication reviews and medication management services as per provincial standards
  • Service local long term care residents and work closely with local home care professionals
  • Apply full scope of practice as a clinical pharmacist in Saskatchewan
  • Counsel patients on selection and use of non-prescription medication
  • Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products and ensure accurate pharmacotherapy
  • Maintain medication profiles including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs
